What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

During high school, I was a tutor in the school's peer tutoring program and predominantly tutored students taking Algebra 2 and Research Statistics. I also taught elementary school girls about science, technology, and engineering through my school's Women in Science and Engineering club. Over the past few months I have been tutoring students in SAT prep and math for grades 9-12.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

I will be teaching writing, math, and computer science this summer. I have taken writing classes through AP English Language and Composition as well as an expository writing class in college. I have taken math classes up to Real Analysis (post-multivariable calculus), linear algebra, and discrete math. I have taken AP Computer Science A and Data Structures and I am familiar with Java and Python. I have worked on several data structures related projects in Java and a data analytics project utilizing regression and machine learning models in Python.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

I love working with curious minds and helping others unlock that moment where they feel like they finally understand a topic or concept they have been struggling with. I am excited to build an energetic classroom environment with my students and share my passion for the subject matter with them.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

Outside of academics, I love singing, and I've been learning classical music for years. I am also a part of a dance team at NYU.
