Srija Aluri

I am currently a biochemistry major at Virginia Tech with a minor in intellectual property law. At Virginia Tech, I am the outreach coordinator for a local organization called Compress and Shock, where I teach people how to correctly perform CPR and use an AED. I am also a certified EMT as well as a tutor on my college campus.

Throughout my time in high school, I tutored students in a variety of subjects, including math, English, science, and SAT prep. I also helped organize tutoring sessions in my community, especially when learning was impacted during the pandemic. Additionally, I was the president of both the Chemistry Society and Microbiology Club, where I would teach various scientific topics through interactive lectures and demonstrations.

I have previously taken advanced science classes, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, neurobiology, and DNA science. Additionally, I have completed Calc 2 and Linear Algebra for my degree. For my minor, I have also taken several college writing classes encompassing both creative and nonfiction writing methods. I am also passionate about scientific research and have engaged in laboratory-based and computational science projects in the past several years.

I love the energy that students have about learning and hope to share my enthusiasm about these topics with them.

I like to garden, hike, sew, watch soccer games, and play with my dog!
