Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?
I attend the University of Notre Dame. I am majoring in Physics and am in the Program of Liberal Studies with a minor in Philosophy.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?
Throughout high school, I tutored my peers in physics and math for grades 6-12. I have been a swim coach and instructor for swimmers ages 5-18 for the past 3 years. I'm involved in my Church's youth ministry and have taught elementary schoolers at summer Bible camps. Additionally, I teach saxophone lessons at the middle school level.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?
I will be teaching math and have taken classes up through multivariable calculus, including some through the Academies of Loudoun.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?
I am hoping to pursue a career in teaching and am very excited to bring my love for math and science to my classes this summer! I'm hoping to foster students' enthusiasm for learning and pursuing what they are passionate about.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?
I'm involved in Notre Dame's marching band and campus ministry. I love writing, singing, and playing saxophone and guitar.
