Brendan Charen

Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?

I am a rising senior at Loudoun School For Advanced Studies. My extracurriculars include serving as treasurer for both Student Government and NHS at my school.

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

I have a lot of experience helping classmates understand concepts that come naturally to me. I have helped classmates to improve their code and assisted them with debugging their code. I have also helped classmates that were falling behind in math and needed help understanding the concepts.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

I have taken up to AP Calculus AB in Math, and AP Computer Science Principles. I am well versed in Java and C#.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

I want to share my passions for coding and math and inspire a new generation of kids to be interested in the subjects.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

I am the club leader for my school's Diplomacy (Board Game) club. I actively participle in my school's D&D, Board Game, & Movie Night clubs. I regularly volunteer at the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra.
