Where do you attend school, and what what are you studying?
I attend the University of Richmond majoring in Computer Science. I am a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society at Richmond, and was the president of my chapter of National Honor Society in high school.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?
I have helped explain various topics to my friends and classmates who were struggling. As Vice President of my school's Board Game Club, I normally explain the rules to games to newcomers, which has required me to learn how to explain a lot of content at once without overwhelming people.
What subjects have you taught with Fairfax Collegiate in the past?
I started with Fairfax Collegiate as a Lead TA in 2024. Since then, I have taught math, coding, and sim classes as an Instructor.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?
I have been coding since elementary school, starting with Scratch, but I now work with a variety of languages including Python, Java, C++, and C#. I have taken up to Multivariable Calculus in math.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?
I love seeing the moment when a difficult concept clicks in a student's mind.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?
I am an avid board game enthusiast, with some of my favorites being Terraforming Mars and Splendor. I also enjoy playing video games, my favorite being Dark Souls.
