Alex Ladstatter

I graduated in 2021 from the State University of New York (SUNY) Plattsburgh with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Television Production. During my time on campus, I served as News Director for our student-run television station, President of both the National Broadcasting Society – Alpha Epsilon Rho and the Broadcast Education Association local chapter, and was also a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Honor Society.

During my time in K–12 communications, I also volunteered to teach courses in film and TV production. My passion for the arts led me to serve as the Assistant Director of Productions for a school district in the Binghamton, NY area—a role that allowed me to combine my love for theater with my dedication to education.

I spent six years working as a local reporter, multimedia journalist, producer, and anchor. After transitioning out of the news industry, I moved into K–12 public school communications, where I honed my skills in still photography and helped highlight student achievements and school events. Most recently, I’ve worked on contract with the USDA and Disabled American Veterans (DAV), supporting their communications goals through earned media initiatives.

I love it when a student has their 'ah-ha' moment, when the subject matter clicks, or maybe they found a passion for the subject matter they didn't know they possessed. I also enjoy learning more about each student holistically: what makes them unique, their hobbies and where they want to see themselves in the future; I use this to better assist my teaching style and support the students to reach their goals.

I love to hike, run, and take my dog on adventures! (a 5 year old miniature Aussie-Doodle named Ellie!)
