Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?

I am currently attending Langley High School. I participate in various extracurriculars including Cyberpatriots, Langley Orchestra, and the Computer Science Honor Society.

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

My past experience includes mentoring students locally with Belong! Vienna. Additionally, I tutor AP Computer Science A students at my high school.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

I am a teaching assistant and some experience I have with the classes offered at Fairfax Collegiate are taking AP Computer Science A and Data Structures AV for the coding and robotics classes. I am familiar with Java and Python and have built a project that uses an algorithm to minimize cardboard usage during the packaging process for deliveries. I am also familiar with science classes as I have taken both honors chemistry and biology. For math classes, I have taken up to AP BC calculus.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

The most exciting part of teaching young students is seeing the progression, particularly when learning something entirely new. When the students progress, my time and dedication feels worth it and impactful. Whenever a student understands a new or challenging topic for the first time, it makes me feel fulfilled and I love that about working with young students.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

I love playing the cello outside of school and involving myself with local musical events and meetups. I also enjoy going to volleyball sessions regularly at local community centers.
