Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?

I am a double Hokie. I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a M.S.Ed in Career and Technical Education, and in 2023, I graduated with dual degrees in Agricultural Sciences and Environmental Horticulture.

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

I have loved my experiences working with students of all ages as a substitute teacher, instructor and tutor for Fairfax Collegiate, leader for the Virginia Governor's School for Agriculture, and peer mentor to college freshmen. I recently completed my student teaching at a high school in Southwest Virginia and look forward to starting a full-time teaching position this fall.

What subjects have you taught with Fairfax Collegiate in the past?

I started working with Fairfax Collegiate last summer teaching writing courses and continued teaching test prep and tutoring through the year-round programs.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

As a recent graduate, I have written more than my fair share of essays and research papers and taken a few courses on communication through writing. During my two summers working with the VA Governor's School, I helped guide students as they wrote a 10-page research paper.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

I enjoy getting to learn about each student's unique interests and helping them gain confidence in their writing abilities.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

In my free time, I like to hike, paint, and complete the daily New York Times games.
