What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?I've taught in honor societies including Math Honor Society and my school's Writing Center, as well as being a teacher's assistant in a Data Structures class at my high school. Additionally, I was in leadership in my school's marching band for two years, which included teaching the new members how to march and play.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?I've taken AP Computer Science A, Data Structures and Algorithms (at a high school level) and Python courses through CMU. As for personal projects, I've developed several discord bots for managing things from spam to voice call usage.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?Seeing the transformation of a student from the start of teaching them to the end, whether it's over a 30 minute period or over weeks, always brings me joy. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed in anything, they just need to unlock their passion for it, and I truly enjoy helping students develop that passion.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?I play the trumpet, and I do gigs with jazz bands or combos every so often. I also enjoy video games, including FPS games and puzzle games.
