Kaley McQuinn

Where do you attend school, and what what are you studying?

I'm currently attending Virginia Tech as a mechanical engineering major. In high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society and Tri-M (Music Honor Society).

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

I was a private math tutor for 2 years and was an assistant teacher at LCPS's Summer in the Arts program for 3 summers.

What subjects have you taught with Fairfax Collegiate in the past?

I was previously a location assistant for the Ashburn, McLean, and Tysons locations in the summer of 2025.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

I conducted a year long engineering research project focused on the engineering applications of origami techniques. I've taken two semester-long engineering research focused classes at Virginia Tech.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

I love seeing when students finally have that moment where the subject clicks with them and seeing their passion ignited.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

Outside of work and school, I enjoy playing guitar and baking.
