Where do you attend school, and what what are you studying?

I am currently pursuing a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics at Virginia Tech, where I have developed strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. My academic interests include mathematics, economics, data analysis, and education, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in challenging subjects through tutoring and mentorship.

Beyond academics, I am actively involved in leadership, athletics, and community engagement. I serve as a math tutor for students from elementary school through high school on Wyzant and have worked in educational settings at Fairfax Collegiate, Schoolhouse, and the Teachers for America Ignite Fellowship. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate complex concepts, mentor students, and create supportive learning environments.

I have a strong background in athletics, having competed as a varsity athlete in both Track & Field and Basketball throughout high school. In college, I remain involved through Virginia Tech intramural sports. I am also a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, reflecting over a decade of commitment, discipline, and perseverance.

Through my experiences in academics, athletics, leadership, tutoring, and service, I have developed a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a passion for helping others succeed.

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

Outside of Fairfax Collegiate, I have worked as a math tutor through Wyzant and Schoolhouse, supporting students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and SAT Math. These roles have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles.

What subjects have you taught with Fairfax Collegiate in the past?

I previously worked with Fairfax Collegiate in the summer of 2025 as a Location Assistant. I supported both instructional and administrative duties and taught and assisted in math-related courses, including Intro to Algebra 2 and pre-Algebra.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

I have prior experience with 3D printing from earlier coursework and hands-on projects, and I continue to work on personal designs and builds in my free time. This has given me familiarity with 3D modeling, printer setup, troubleshooting, and bringing digital designs to physical products, which I can apply directly in teaching 3D printing classes.
