I am a student the University of Virginia where I am pursuing a double major in Finance & Applied Statistics. At UVA, I am involved in my schools investment club - McIntire Investment Institute. In high school, I competed in various debate and business tournaments, where I placed 1st nationally in EconOlympiad and 2nd in Virginia DECA.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?As a 6th and 7th grade basketball coach, I worked with young athletes to develop their fundamental skills and teamwork. In this role, I was responsible for doing demonstrations for players, implementing drills, and communication. I was also involved with my high school's peer tutoring math club. I worked with students to explain challenging concepts, help with homework, and prepare for tests.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?I was involved with debate in high school, and even placed 1st in the national EconOlympiad debate. I have also completed a rigorous math coursework, from Pre-Algebra through Multivariable Calculus. At UVA, I completed a college level CS & Data Structures class and built a Python project to track immunizations around the world.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?I am excited to work with students because it creates a meaningful impact on students and gives me gratification from helping them learn.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?I enjoy watching Eagles football, playing basketball, and listening to music.
