I am attending Seton Hall University and earning a BS in Adult Nursing, as well as taking part in the Honors Program. At SHU, I am in the Student Nurses Association and am on the Dean's List. In high school, I did the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme and earned an IB Diploma from South Lakes High School.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?I have taught dance and coached track and field events to young children between 3rd and 8th grade while I was in middle and high school. I've tutored my peers in different science disciplines and helped improve their writing skills.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?I have taken multiple anatomy courses as an undergraduate, as well as a class focusing on chemistry in nursing and a statistics class. I undertook a project with my university's Housing and Residence Life department to help improve the quality of student accommodations, which used my writing and public speaking skills.
What excites you about teaching and working with students? My favorite thing about teaching is being able to pass my knowledge down to students and watch them grow and develop in that subject area. Seeing students gain confidence in a subject area is one of the reasons I love to teach.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?I am very involved with Habitat for Humanity and am currently the Advocacy Chair for the collegiate chapter at Seton Hall.
