Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?
I'll be attending George Washington University, studying Data Science and Biomedical Engineering in Fall 2024 with a Presidential Scholarship. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Spring 2024. I've won the Congressional Award Gold Medal, was a National Honor Society Service Chair, and was the Co-Captain of the Women's High School Crew Team.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?
Through school programs and National Honor Society, I have tutored Math and Latin, as well as taught hands-on learning for elementary school students at the Children's Science Center. I have also worked with younger kids through a program called TJ Give to tutor in English and Math. In addition, I have volunteered for 4 years at a hospital and learned valuable life skills there.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?
As a Lead TA, I help wherever is needed. I have taken Python, Java, C++, Javascript, and Data Structure classes in school. For math, I have taken BC Calculus.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?
I truly enjoy learning and working with an academically focused program that allows for experiential enrichment. I love the opportunity to work with young students to help learn and understand new concepts!
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?
My favorite hobbies are playing the violin, classical dance, and baking new recipes.
