Where do you attend school, and what what are you studying?
I am an undergraduate at the College of William & Mary and majoring in Data Science. In college, I hold leadership roles in the Data Science Society. I also completed a Mobile and Web Applications Research Project in my senior year of high school.
What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?
I worked as a speech and debate tutor in high school, working one-on-one with a student alongside another tutor. I was also a Girl Scout and was a member of my area's Girl Leadership Board, where I helped design and teach lessons in a variety of topics.
What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?
Regarding public speaking, I participated in Model United Nations for five years and recently took a public speaking class in college. For TJ Admissions Prep and other writing courses, I attended and graduated from TJHSST where I took AP English Literature and an earned a 5 on the AP Exam. I also took a postcolonial literature writing class in college, as well as a government policy writing class with a focus on Korean history."
What excites you about teaching and working with students?
My favorite parts of teaching and working with students are making a positive impact on students and helping students build a strong community with their peers. I deeply value being able to teach students topics that connect with them and their interests, as well as helping students build their confidence and interpersonal skills.
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?
Outside of work and school, I enjoy knitting, baking, and hiking outdoors.
