Mod Minecraft with Python.

Write simple Python code to make buildings and cities inside of Minecraft. Write Python code to create Minecraft minigames.

This course is a great choice for students who love Minecraft, enjoy creative challenges, and want an exciting introduction to coding. The class blends traditional coding skills with familiar game mechanics as students learn how Python can change and control their Minecraft worlds. Activities focus on helping beginners feel confident writing code while encouraging more experienced students to further develop their skills.

Students try out teleport commands, create special effects, design tools like tree planters, diamond finders, and instant portals, and more. They learn how coordinates, loops, functions, and file commands work behind the scenes and see their ideas come to life on screen. Fairfax Collegiate provides laptops for all student work.

At the end of the course, families receive digital copies of all projects (running projects at home requires a PC with Minecraft Java edition and a copy of our Java library mod). Students leave excited to keep exploring Minecraft with Python and more confident taking on future programming challenges.
