Personal narratives are short, first-person accounts of an event or experience. The class reads and discusses notable examples of the genre. Each student writes and revises three drafts of his or her own original personal narrative. The instructor provides detailed corrections and suggestions for each draft. Students share and discuss their personal narratives with each other. Daily exercises develop key writing skills.
