Review the Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 topics needed to succeed on the SAT.
The SAT Math calculator and no-calculator sections require students to have a solid background in their high school Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 skills. For students who have found high school math to be challenging, it can be intimidating to be expected to draw upon such a wide variety of content on a strict time limit. Rather than just jumping straight into a full SAT Prep course where time to reteach math skills can be limited, we offer this gentle and thorough review.
The course begins with a pre-test to assess which topics students need the most help with, and then proceeds through a review of the core concepts from Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 topics that are most commonly seen in the math sections of the SAT. Students have frequent opportunities to ask questions, get help from instructors, and to check their understanding using practice sets consisting of SAT questions.
After completing this course, we recommend students continue on to a standard SAT Prep course for additional exposure to practice tests and to continue improving their confidence and their scores.
Families are welcome to contact the registrar at any time for a recommendation on which course would best suit their child's needs.
