Intro to Improv

Rising Grades 5 to 6

Master the skills of teamwork, spontaneity, and storytelling in action.

Dive into the exciting world of improv and unleash your creativity! In this class, students explore the fundamentals of improvisation, from saying "Yes, and..." to building scenes and characters in the moment. Through fun games, group activities, and lively discussions, students learn to think on their feet, collaborate with others, and turn spontaneous ideas into entertaining performances.

Throughout the course, students work on projects like creating an improv showcase, developing an improvised play, and inventing their own improv games to share with the class. They’ll also get the chance to bring unique characters to life in a parade or craft a story series that evolves scene by scene. Each project is designed to encourage creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

By the end of the class, students leave with stronger communication skills, enhanced creativity, and a deeper appreciation for collaboration. They’ll feel proud of their projects, confident in their abilities, and ready to use their improv skills both on and off the stage.
