Explore the fun and excitement of competitive math.
In this course, students explore the exciting challenges of two well-known middle school math contests: the AMC8 and MathCounts. Through problem-solving exercises and interactive lessons, they develop strategies to tackle questions in topics such as algebra, geometry, and combinatorics, building both their math skills and confidence.
In addition to mock exams and daily problem sets, students work on creative projects such as designing their own math contest questions, creating strategy guides, and building an “escape room” using math puzzles. These hands-on activities encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of contest concepts.
By the end of the course, students gain confidence in their ability to approach challenging math problems with creativity and skill. They also leave with a stronger understanding of key mathematical concepts and a toolkit of effective strategies.
