Pre-Algebra 5-6

This class provides 5th- and 6th-grade students who are comfortable with grade-level content with an introduction to algebra topics. Students will be challenged to expand their conceptual thinking as topics begin at the 5th-grade level and progressively move into an 8th-grade level.

Topics include (but are not limited to) substitution, solving one- and two-step equations, combining like terms, the distributive property, functions (the rule of four), additive and multiplicative tabular relationships graphing linear equations, positive & negative slope, y-intercepts, solving inequalities, and graphing inequalities.


  • Students must have a device with a microphone and a camera
  • A device with a keyboard is recommended, but optional
  • Students must have access to a printer
  • Students must have a reliable internet connection
