Roblox Studio

Rising Grades 4 to 6

Create new Roblox experiences.

Build obstacles and challenges. Design your own interactive worlds. Use Lua scripts to add movement, scoring, and special effects.

Go home with your Roblox projects.

This course is a great option for students who enjoy creating, building, and playing games and want to learn how to make their own experiences in Roblox. The class blends direct instruction with guided practice so students learn new skills in small, achievable steps while still having plenty of room to experiment and personalize their work. No prior experience is necessary, although familiarity with playing Roblox and practice using a computer keyboard are both helpful.

Students design their own interactive worlds, build obstacles and challenges, and use simple Lua scripts to add movement, scoring, and special effects. They test their creations with classmates, polish their levels, and complete a final mini-game they can continue developing after the course. Fairfax Collegiate provides a laptop for each student so everyone can build and code at their own pace.

At the end of the course, students take home full access to their Roblox accounts and can view, share, and continue their projects at home. They leave feeling confident in their ability to build original games and ready to explore more coding, design, or advanced Roblox projects.

Fairfax Collegiate will offer this course for the first time in the 2026 Summer Program, and the full course syllabus (goals, topics, and day-by-by schedule) will be posted closer to the start of the Summer Program.
