There is no fee for changing sessions, locations, or classes. (There may be a balance due if the new class has a different price.)
Cancellations, Refunds, and Credits
Families must request registrations cancellations in writing or by email. Fairfax Collegiate will refund program fees less the non-refundable deposit of $100 per session for cancellations received before May 1, 2017.
There are no refunds after May 1, 2017.
A family may elect to receive a credit instead of a refund before or after May 1, 2017. This credit will be in the full amount of program fees paid (including non-refundable deposits), and may be used within the next two years for Fairfax Collegiate Summer Program fees for any immediate family member.
Fairfax Collegiate does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or cultural or religious background.
Location Directors review the following key expectations with students at the beginning of each session:
1. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
2. No running in the classroom or the school building.
3. Eat only in designated areas at designated times.
4. No cursing or swearing.
5. Follow teachers' instructions.
Students who fail to meet these expectations after several verbal reminders will be removed from class and their parents notified. In the unlikely event that a student's behavior represents a safety issue, Fairfax Collegiate will remove the student from the program and there will be no refund of program fees.
Authorization to Obtain Emergency Medical Care
By enrolling in our program, you authorize Fairfax Collegiate to obtain emergency medical care if any emergency occurs when the parent/guardian(s) cannot be located immediately.
Prescription and non-prescription medications are not permitted, except for epipens and inhalers with a physician's authorization
Act of God
In the event that summer program classes are delayed or end early due to an act of God or civil authority or other reason beyond the control of Fairfax Collegiate, no adjustment of tuition will be made.
Child Day Program Licensure Exemption
Fairfax Collegiate Summer Programs operate as exempt from Child Day Program Licensure under §63.2-1715.2 of the Code of Virginia, which stipulates that students may enter and leave the premises without permission or supervision.
Our program is organized as two-week, half-day classes. We require students to sign-in and sign-out when arriving and departing their classrooms, and our instructors take attendance. It is our policy to contact parents if students are absent or depart before the regular end of class without prior notification by a parent. For full-day students, the same procedures apply to the mandatory lunch period.
Section §63.2-1715.2 of the Code of Virginia provides for flexibility for meeting the needs of “children with disabilities”. Please contact us if you believe your child has a disability which requires you to sign him or her in and out of the program.
Photography and Video
By enrolling in our program, you allow Fairfax Collegiate to take photographs and video of your child, which may be used in our catalog, website, and other promotional materials.
If you do not want us to photograph or take video of your child, please send a written request before Attendance begins with a photo of your child.
Food Restrictions at Alexandria, Fairfax, and Reston Locations
