Akua grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She is a second-year graduate student at Yale pursuing an MA in African Studies and will be graduating this May. She got her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) where she majored in Neuroscience and Behavior with a minor in Africana Studies. Since she has passion for both the sciences and the humanities, Akua has found that teaching has allowed her to dabble in both fields. In the New Haven area, Akua has taken to teaching high schoolers in a natural sciences after-school program. Akua is very excited to be a part of Fairfax Collegiate!
