TJ Exam Math Boot Camp 7-8

Update: The start date for the TJ Exam Boot Camps has been postponed until the School Board decides whether or not to act on the FCPS Superintendent's recommendations (link). The Boot Camp is still open for registration, and we will email updates to all registered families as soon as they become available.

This online course helps students prepare for the math section of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology entrance exam:

  • Students practice the various concepts tested on the Quant-Q mathematics test
  • Students learn how to solve complex problems logically using their knowledge of math
  • Students review and practice algebraic concepts and the importance of patterns
  • Students practice problems involving probability, permutations, and combinations
  • Students learn how to effectively and efficiently confront word problems
  • Students learn about geometry and optimization and practice those topics in a test-like setting

The enrollment limit is 12 students.

Students take two full-length practice tests outside of class, and receive a written evaluation after the class is complete.

Each student will receive a copy of Fairfax Collegiate's exclusive TJ Exam Prep guide in the mail, which will be sent out a few days before the session begins. Families registering closer to the start date will still receive a copy, but it may arrive after the first class meeting.
