This course is designed to give students an advanced look at some of the most difficult topics in general high school, honors, or AP Biology, covering four primary units: Cellular Structure and Function, Biological Transport, DNA, and Heredity and Genetics.
This course is academically aggressive, with an emphasis on preparation, testing, and comprehension of important concepts in biology. Classes begin with important questions in biology to provoke critical thinking, before addressing those questions through focused lectures and activities. Daily quizzes and frequent review help tie concepts together to give students a deep understanding of how different biological processes are intertwined.
In providing this class online, we continue to provide instruction in four primary units, and it is an academically rigorous course. As our online courses feature live instruction, students are able to work with each other as they complete problem sets and other group work to prepare for assessments.
